Denny coverage in Scientific American and the Observer

There has been more coverage of the discovery of Denny, the first generation offspring of a Neanderthal and a Denisovan, in two articles. The first is in the new edition of Scientific American :

The article discusses the story of the ZooMS discovery with Samantha Brown, Mike Buckley, Svante Pääbo, Viviane Slon, Michael Shunkov, Anatoly Derevianko and the rest of the team. We are grateful to Kate Wong for inviting us to write this piece.

The second is an article by the Guardian's Robin McKie, which was published in the Observer newspaper on the 25th of November. It's called "Meet Denny, the ancient mixed-heritage mystery girl". It has the first attempt to our knowledge to reconstruct what Denny looked like. We will leave it to you to decide whether this has been achieved or not...it's below:

Meanwhile the search for more fragmented hominin bone continues through the FINDER project, directed by Katerina Douka. We are hoping that Katerina and Sam (below), and soon to be appointed PhD students, will continue the successful work started during PalaeoChron, and find more fantastic human remains.
