New Luminescence reader arrives

The other day a new state-of-the-art Freiberg "LEXSYG" Luminescence reader arrived at the RLAHA as part of the PalaeoChron project.

It will allow us to substantially increase our sample throughput and because the machine can run virtually continually via an 80- sample carousel, it is also much more efficient.

In September we will take on a new post-doc working on the Luminescence and OSL dating for the project. The new instrument (which we have named CHRONOS) will be a key part of the dating work.
